We spent two nights in a two bedroom bungalow here.
Strong points:
– Quiet, isolated and somewhat magical setting just 90 minutes from the main resort town
– Semi-open air bungalows strike the right balance between comfort and being in nature
– Well stocked library and many guided and self-guided activities on offer. Flute making and swimming underneath the on-site waterfall (!) both highly recommended
– Excellent, friendly service even by Balinese standards
– Breakfast (included), lunch and dinner all outstanding
No weak points as such, but be aware of the following:
– There are no dining options apart from the hotel restaurant, which is slightly (albeit not significantly) more expensive than you might be used to in Bali. That said, there is a very wide range of dishes to choose from, we were impressed by all meals and the marginally higher cost is probably mostly attributable to the food being organically sourced.
– You will be up close with nature and (in the case of the 2 bed bungalow where we stayed) with each other. The bathroom was semi-outdoors, accessed through one of the bedrooms and separated from the living area by a fairly low wall
This place was, overall, the best part of a 2 week Bali experience. I would highly recommend it and would very much like to return for a longer stay.
